Expression of Interest form: Arts & Heritage Seminar – Oidhreacht Bheo

Tá liúntas €200 i dtreo taisteal agus lóistín á mbronnadh ag Ealaín na Gaeltachta ar dheichniúir ealaíontóirí le deis freastal ar an seimineár Oidhreacht Bheo a bheidh á reáchtáil i nGaoth Dobhair 7 & 8 Nollaig 2017.

Déanfar plé ag an seimineár ar na nascanna idir na healaíon agus an oidhreacht agus cuirfear samplaí de dhea-chleachtais Gaeltachta, Náisiúnta agus Idirnáisiúnta i láthair.

Tá líon na spásanna teoranta go deichniúir agus beidh córas roghnúcháin i gceist.

Bheinn buíoch ach an fhoirm thíos luaite a comhlíonadh chun go mbeifeá san áireamh don liúntas.

Bheith i d’ealaíontóir gairmiúil, taithí ealaíona a bheith agat sa réimse ealaíon agus oidhreacht agus léiriú ar mar a cheapann tú go rachadh an seimineár chun leasa do’d chleachtas ealaíona.

Níl agat ach an Fhoirm Léiriú Spéise a chomhlíonadh agus a sheoladh ar ais chuig ealain@udaras.ie roimh an 28 Samhain 2017.

An Ghaeltacht lasta suas don Oíche Chultúir

Beidh sraith imeachtaí spreagúla éagsúla á reáchtáil ag ealaíontóirí agus ag eagrais ealaíona sa Gaeltacht don Oíche Chultúir, Dé hAoine, 22 Meán Fómhair. Tá na himeachtaí á gcomhordú ag Ealaín na Gaeltachta, atá seasta ag cothú agus ag éascú na healaíon Gaeltachta, faoi choimirce An Chomhairle Ealaíon agus Údarás na Gaeltachta. Don ochtú bliain as a chéile, beidh sé le feiceáil sa cheiliúradh seo, mar a thugann na healaíon léiriú ríthábhachtach ar shaibhreas cultúrtha na Gaeltachta ó cheann ceann na bliana.

 

Suas le 30 ócáid atá á reáchtáil saor in aisce ar fud na Gaeltachta agus tá an-chlár curtha ar fáil, idir imeachtaí liteartha, ceol agus damhsa, ceardlanna, cainteanna, taispeántais fís-ealaíne, agus taispeántais scannáin taobh istigh agus taobh amuigh.

Is í Muireann Nic Amhlaoidh, Ambassadóir na Gaeltachta don Oíche Chultúir, an chéad Ambassadóir Gaeltachta don ócáid Náisiúnta seo. Beidh sí i dteannta Síle Denvir d’Oíche álainn speisialta ceoil, Ó Ghuth go Dubh, ar Oileán Chléire ina mbeidh comhghleacaithe den scoth ina dteanna.

Beidh guthanna cultúrtha agus traidisiúin na Gaeltachta le cloisteáil agus le feiceáil ag ócáidí áirneáin is siamsaíocht i chuile choirnéil Gaeltachta, Ciarraí, Baile Mhúirne, Ráth Cairn, Corr na Móna, Conamara, Tuar Mhic Éadaigh, Acail, An Rinn, Teach Sholais Fhánáda i nDún na nGall agus beidh ócáid binn faoi leith in Amharclann Gaoth Dobhair nuair a thiocfaidh Cór Óg na Crannóige, Cór Mhuire agus Cór Cois Fharraige as Conamara le chéile go speisialta don oíche.

Osclóidh na hionad ealaíona, Áras Éanna, Inis Oírr, An Lab sa Daingean, Áras Inis Ghluaire, Béal a Mhuirthead, a gcuid doirse i rith an tráthnóna d’iliomad imeachtaí speisialta chomh maith.

Rachel Holstead appointed as Arts Facilitator for the Donegal Gaeltacht

Ealaín na Gaeltachta is delighted to announce that Rachel Holstead will be serving as Arts Facilitator for the Donegal Gaeltacht for the next year. Rachel is from Ventry in Corca Dhuibhne. She is a respected composer and spent five years as Music Adviser to the Arts Council. She also served on the bord of the National Concert Hall as well as being active in the arts in her native Kerry. We wish her every success in her new role.

How to produce effective video content for the internet.

Ealaín na Gaeltachta in association with communications department of Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta, Gaoth Dobhair

The objective of the course is to give arts and cultural groups the knowledge and skills to film short videos and edit them for social media. By the end of the course you will be able to create high-quality videos that people will want to watch!!

You will learn how to plan a story; Basic camera skills; The techniques and basics of shooting video (shot composition, sound, lighting, etc.); How to effectively operate equipment; How to shoot on different platforms, (DSLR video camera, basic camera, smart phones, etc); How to edit your film/clip; How to share and upload your videos to the web. Each group/participant will be given the opportunity to plan, produce, film and edit a short video.

This is a two-day course and will take place in 2 separate venues

Illuminated sculpture exhibition with An Cosan Glas

An Cosán Glas – illuminated sculpture trail exhibition

Unit 1 Industrial Estate, Falcarragh and at various locations throughout the town.

Saturday 23 July and Sunday 24 July.

An Cosán Glas’s illuminated sculpture-trail projects have being wowing huge audiences for the past 20 years. As part of a new departure, An Cosán Glas are pleased to announce a new and exciting sculpture project; one that is sure to be memorable; one that will mesmerise; and one that is deeply rooted in the community. Featuring eight local artists and seven teenagers from the locality, this new project will see the creation of a series of illuminated sculptures that will be exhibited in a factory unit on the Falcarragh Industrial estate.

The sculptures, as always, promise to be eye-catching and awe-inspiring. A number of illuminated sculptures will be placed at various locations around the village of Falcarragh as well – thus, adding a sprinkle of magic to the night-time festivities of the festival.

Traidphicnic, an Spidéal, 2016

Traidphicnic is an open-air Trad Music Festival based in and around the seaside village of An Spidéal; the majority of events take place on an outdoor stage in the surrounds of An Ceardlann/ Spiddal Craft Village. Now in its fifth year, Traidphicnic includes music gigs, crafts demonstrations, interactive art area, camera obscura, sean-nós dance class, informal Irish language classes, sea-shore walks and talks.

This years line up of gigs include Noel Hill & Steve Cooney, Kila, Don Stiffe & Cairde, Clann uí hIarnáin, Porterhead and many more musicians and bands. There is also a full programme of arts events.

Féile na Bealtaine aspires to build on the rich tradition of arts and culture that exists on the Dingle peninsula and to extend and broaden our artistic horizons – above all Féile hopes to entertain and to invigorate.
The festival’s aims are to highlight and promote Dingle’s traditions and bilingual culture and to introduce the arts and artists from other parts of Ireland and the world to the people of Corca Dhuibhne.
